The Lugger Inn in Polruan in Cornwall The next stage of our Devon and Cornwall holiday takes us to the Lugger Inn in Polruan for a two night stay. The Lugger Inn was first opened as a public house in 1794 but the rooms above have recently been refurbished to a very high standard. There are four rooms and we stayed in room number 3 overlooking Polruan harbour. It has been many years since we have been and I had forgotten what a fantastic place that it is. The last few years we have been going abroad but, because problems with delays and cancellations at Manchester Airport, we decided to give Cornwall another try. We booked Chalet 209 on Atlantic Bays Holiday Park about 10 minutes drive from Porthcothan Bay near Padstow on Cornwall's North coast. Porthcothan Bay has a great sandy beach which either goes out a very long way or a short way depending on the tide. Bodyboarding is very popular. Lifeguards patrol the beach until about 5.00 p.m. On either side of the bay is the coastal footpath through cliff top fields. Fans of Poldark may r...
